Elko Heat Company has a longstanding legacy of pioneering renewable utilities and providing unique, effective, and affordable services to customers since 1978, being one of the first successful projects under the Department of Energy’s “Field Experiments for Direct-Uses of Geothermal Energy” program. Originally built to service 3 customers, Elko heat company has steadily grown its district heating loop to provide for 17 local businesses, including historic locations like the Henderson Bank, Commercial Casino and Post Office.
